2/24-AM Session/SD River

Post by VinnyBass »

After some recent warm days, I decided to hit the river again. I need to remember that we are still in February and water temp
was still pretty cool, especially at the river. After several casts with some crank baits with no takers and a few underspins, I decided
to slow it down a little. Worked a lot of baits in the stick ups and tulles. It seemed to be one of those days where despite the weather
which was nice and warm...the bass fishing bite was cold. Finally got the skunk off with a dink on a black ribbon tail worm.
So happy to get a bite finally, that I almost yanked his head off with the hook set...ha ha. Got only one more bite in the morning
before leaving as something picked up my craw bait and headed slowly back towards the tulles. Set the hook and after a nice
fight(quite a difference from the dink earlier), I was able to land a 4.25lb bass.

A tough morning......

Way to put in work, Mr. VinnyBass.

From what I've seen from your posts, this place looks to be a very interesting fishery, very different from your local bass pond. Keep gettin' em, as it seems you have spots dialed in.

Yeah, every once in a while, it is nice to catch a chunky one. :-)
My biggest bass down there was last year on Halloween....7lbs 3 oz.

Getting skunked is a reality at times especially in bass fishing as I know and we all know. So my persistence(stubbornness)
has me working my a** off covering lots of shoreline at the river and mixed in with a lot of luck, sometimes pays off. :-)
