Skunked but....Otay 2/2

Post by Dannicus »

Fished all morning at Otay but couldn't wash off the skunk stink. Still I had an awesome time... Why?

Spent the morning with @Early release ,@Pourboy , and @CorsoEnthusiast . The great company made the whole trip worthwhile to be sure!

It sure was a great time. It surprised me that none of us got anything. We certainly had the entire water column covered.

I got a worm bite about 10:15 in the old parking lot area and I had my drag loosened to pull out some line while I was retying. Swung on em and didn’t get the hookset.. That was enough to make me feel alive and fish another 40 minutes anyway.

Pleasure fishing with you gents! Let’s do it again soon! Hopefully next time the fish will cooperate.

between the 4 of us we about covered every bait presentation possible so if we all blanked, you know it was not happening in that part of the lake.

Really enjoyed the pic!
What we have here is basically a Bass All-Star Team photo of some really great bass fishermen!
All I know is that the tough bass fishing you experienced today was not because of a lack of talent.Geez......I keep looking at the photo and the bass must of been lined up hiding next to the the dam Anyway, at least you guys got out on the water and I bet shared a heck of a lot of fun fishing stories. Meanwhile,I was running back and forth on dry land to Lowes and Home Depot and working on Deb's condo. Thanks for sharing and tight lines to all of you.

Buddy found a few back in Harvey’s this afternoon. That’s the only spot I haven’t launched from yet at Otay, might check it out next time.

Next time you'll have to come Vinny. Of course I already felt like a wet behind the ears amateur among those guys. If you showed up too I'd be so out of my depth I'd be invisible :). But I'd learn a lot. Its always a real pleasure fishing with the amazing people I have met here on the forum.

Don’t give me this invisible crap. You’re a heck of a good fisherman. And yes, there are some amazing people on this site and always fun to see them out on the water and share fish stories with each other.
See you at Murray one day when I finally decide to go fish again there ha ha ha Tight lines

Dan, I also feel like a small child learning in a group like that. It's one of my favorite things about fishing is hanging around with others and learning new things. There's a couple videos with Chris teaching me to jig fish, clearly he's patient and clearly I need help. Ahaha. Looking forward to the next outing.

Hey guys that was awesome! Great people and stubborn fish. We could not have had better weather. And yes, I don't think that we left anything else to try. Fishing an armada line from the tules to 25+ feet while throwing the tackle box at them. Oh well it was a blast. I also talked to a couple of guys who got them in the back of Harvey.

If this group of guys got skunked, there’s no hope for the rest of us.
