Quick morning trip to the river and a quick report. Only 2 bites....pretty much tells the story.
Bass were small, but better than nothing at all.

Yeah, lately I’ve been throwing a Texas rig with a sinker stop or bobber stop …whatever that is called.KillinTime wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 4:32 pm 2 Bites, 2 Fish! Batting 1,000 on the Texas Rig. Thanks for sharing!

It’s funny I have tons of Tokyo rigs and caught a lot of bass on them, but I haven’t been throwing them as much. I blame the water level at Lake Murray for not keeping me excited about using them. I used to throw them a lot at Murray when the water was higher and deeoer in the tulles, but in the last two years, it sucks because the water is low. The word is it’s never gonna go up like it was a few years ago which is really a bummer. Sorry for the long explanation but the Texas rig has been working, so I just I’ve been sticking to it even when I’m flipping.

Re: 12/19-SD River quick trip
Murray has been really bad my last few trips . I mean I got a few aquarium sized bass bouncing a spoon off the bottom, but mostly cruised around looking for shad balls or schools of shad and couldn’t find any. There’s a lot of schools of bluegill I have seen, but as far as bass fishing, it’s been pretty slow. I mean, if I wanna catch tiny bass off the bottom i could drop down a small ice jig or spoon but like I said…. they are tiny!
