11/25-SD River was tough

Post by VinnyBass »

Hit the SD river this morning around 8 am and it took just over 2 hours before I got my first bite on a brushhog that I tossed in between
sunken branches and the shoreline. Set the hook and enjoyed about 5 or 6 seconds of a nice fight and suddenly the bass came off. I mean I had tension on him and was totally bummed as not sure if I would even get another bite. I continued flippin' and went to a weightless senko just to change things up. Another hour and a half and finally got another bite flippin' a Texas rigged craw bait. This time I landed the bass while bringing him in at warp speed in fear of losing another bass...ha ha. Water is green and the spray from the green film on my line/reel made green dots all of my shirt and shorts. Thank goodness for Tide! ha ha. :-)
Anyway, the bass was not that big, but sure lucky and happy I was able to catch at least one this morning.

Ha ha....I know you are kidding me.
Anyway that was a Googan Krackin' craw in the Junebug color in the mouth of the bass and that is the only color I threw basically this morning. I did flip a purple ribbon tail worm for a little bit.
