Murray or D.K. 9/27 ?
I really wanted to do D.K. on it's final friday, but I got brainwashed by Mr. Vinny and ended up at Murray, my old stompin grounds. When Vinny tells you to do something..do it! He promised me fish on top..and he delivered...I just had to be patient for 3 hours first! I got to the lake at 6:30, and for the next 3 hours, not one sign of any topwater..and then it happened! I was in my tube today, so location was going to be the key and Vinny basically told me exactly where they'd show up and what time! Between 9:30 and 11:30, I put 19 fish in the tube, missed 4 or 5 others, and broke off a fatty! Most of the fish were 2-3lbs and stuffed full of shad! The key was finessing them, throwing tiny baits on the boils! Think small baits...I throw smaller than that! Thanks for the tips Mr. Vinny!

Deb and I were eating breakfast this morning and she said that I seem distracted as I kept looking at my phone. I told her that you texted me a couple times and not one fish has jumped. I guess it was making me nervous after telling you about the great bite the day before. I then looked at my watch and realized it was still too early. When I got the pic of your first bass, around the same time I said things should be going off, I felt relieved. It’s a lot of fun when the bass are on the chew. So glad you had a good day of fishing and next time don’t show up so early… ha ha
Thanks for sharing and tight lines always buddy.

Where were you fishing? Where I was over by the buoy line and against that west shore I never saw much in the way of busters. I was on the lake all morning. You must have found the perfect spot! Don't get me wrong I had a great day and caught some porkers, but I had to go deep with jigs to do it.
I absolutely agree with you on small baits. Last week I was actually throwing a 5cm (1.9 inches) 3.1 gram pencil walking bait and they were mauling it. Yes I caught a ton of dinks but a fair number of 2-3 as well.
Next time we'll have to find each other out there and share techniques! I always enjoy talking with you and learning from you. I mean who else can I make fun of Vinny with?
