Pacific Beach 8/12/24

Post by PBChris »

Water very clear but heavy grass and kelp this morning at PB. I spent 2 hours trying to avoid a skunk and gave up. Got 4 bites and only felt one of them. Objectively, my actions this morning consisted of kidnapping about a dozen sand crabs, torturing 4 of them to death and eventually releasing the survivors.

Hate it when faced with those conditions. Forces you to walk the beach more than you probably want to look for an opening, if you can find one. Even them might be short lived the way that junk moves with the current. Did you work both sides of the pier ? Thanks for the report.

I walked probably a 300-400 yard area south of the pier only. I did find some areas with less grass but couldn’t give away a soft shell with eggs there. Only bites came in deeper guts filled with junk.

Wow, surprising not getting a sniff on a softie. Had just about the same experience last week, a great hole but filled with junk.

South T23 down to 19 can be real good at times
