Hodges 7/20

Post by 1Fishdude »

Was out and set up by 6:00 am. I figured I'd hit the Straits since i haven't fished that portion of the lake in awhile. The lake has dropped another couple of feet I reckon by the looks of things. The straits looked more like a mud flat as i started on the north side . I All those good rocky out cropping were high and dry the water was very stained almost a brown shade. I was throwing an evergreen pc-5 again in bleeding brown craw color. I landed almost 4 lber it weighed out at just under but besides two really small dinks that was the end of my bite. It was damn hot by 9 so i was gone by 10;00. Looks like I should've gone to Otay too.

Nice bass.
Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.

I guess if they keep letting water out of Hodges we can skip using our kayaks and float tubes and walk across the backs of all the carp.

Yep, just keep dropping the water level til it's just a carp pond! San Diego's specialty..trashing the City lakes! Remember back when Hodges was on the cover of Bassmaster Magazine..the good ol days of Botroff and Brown! Now we have Toad Glorious and his City Council groupies!

The line to get in Hodges back in those glory days stretched outside the gate and out on to Lake Drive. And it was still worth the wait and crowds!
