Quick morning at Hodges

Post by tomnilll »

Took a friend to Hodges and wanted to avoid all of my usual shore pounding, so rented a boat. Almost a quick start as I had a "dock monster" just miss while waiting for my buddy to arrive. Anyway, went right over to the birds across from the dock and there were shad everywhere and no bites  .

Then wend around the corner and stopped at a couple spots and got some bites at all of them. I was trying to show off with my trout rod and 4 lb test and after broke that line 3 times I switched to 8 lb mono on "normal" gear and washed off the skunk. After that I was feeling cocky and went back to the light gear and landed the rest of my 5 on that. Boy that was fun, and scary!
