Re: 8/2-Back to Lake Miramar
Hey Vinny,
Great job at Miramar. A few of those bass have big shoulders. Once again, the Sammy performs in your skilled hands.
Joe.

Re: Any bass lakes or reservoirs with rental boating? :/
Also why are they less pressured? Wouldn't more people be going to this area because of how good the fishery is? Or does the price daunt people?

A couple at my Home Lake
Hit my home lake for a few hours on Saturday morning 8-5-23. Got on the lake at 6:00AM. 1st one on a Popper in shallow water. 2nd one on a drop shot rig in a little deeper water. Then had one break off heading under the boat, even though my drag was pretty loose. 2 more missed hook sets after that ...

Quick Sunday Morning Sesh at the V
Got in and out before 9:30 when the zoo showed up in force. Caught a couple of shoreline dinks then moved out to the 20ft zone for 3 bigger models. All caught on splitshot 4.5” roboworms.

Re: Quick Sunday Morning Sesh at the V
Hey Dave its a babied 2007 that I drove out to Havasu to buy last year. Pretty simple but it definitely makes the lakes, bays, and kelps easier!Early release wrote: Sun Aug 06, 2023 7:15 pm Nice job getting in and out before the crowds. Is that your new Alumacraft boat? I'll bet that makes San V pretty nice.

Re: Martinez Lake at night( Video)
I had epic night sessions there thru the 80s, one 7 trip run with at least one over 10 each trip until it just got too hot. All on the Float Tube.

The BFs "Craze"
Saw in iCast that many brands are releasing "BFS" gear. See a bunch of guys using 5 - 7 pound FC. I remember back in the day, guys super tuning old Abu Garcia Ambassadors, to use with light ine.
I dunno about you guys, but I grew up fishing LA city ponds, which equates to very pressured fish. When ...

8/7 Murray
Still did not see any topwater action......pretty strange as in the beginning of June it just started to go off and then pretty much died.
Drastic changes in the water levels definitely had some type of affect in the overall fishing as normally topwater action would be pretty
much wide open in the ...

Re: The BFs "Craze"
I spy a PopX and a DogX Junior. Excellent choices! Ito-San and Megabass just know how to make baits that catch.
When i saw MB's new BFS offerings that they unveiled at iCast, a lot of those baits looked familiar! :D
Their marketing strategy with their new line of BFS baits is pretty smart ...

Launchable?
Yes it is.....Launched my kayak the other week and no problem launching my boat this morning. I am still a little cautious remembering the time when the water was real low years ago and my buddy pulling his Skeeter boat up to the trailer hit a rock at the end of the boat ramp and ...

Re: A couple at my Home Lake
It has been a tough time for many up at your home lake......heck, It is not even on my thought pattern on Fridays as in previous years I fished almost every Friday when it was open. You caught 2 bass, which is the new limit I believe :-). Nice to see you catching a few and posting. Hope before your ...

Re: The BFs "Craze"
Spinning gear is still better than BFS in my opinion for light crankbaits though.
I tend to agree.
But then I had a chance to cast both a Conquest 50 BFS and an Aldebaran BFS and these guys are really engineering reels to throw light baits.
30 years ago, I'd have the same mindset and it would ...

8/9- Miramar again
With anticipation of hopefully more topwater action, I headed back up to Lake Miramar this morning with 3 rods rigged with
topwater baits and one with a small jerk bait. The surface was pretty glassy when I arrived. Finally a few small bass stirring the top of the
water. Everyone knows that by the ...

Re: 8/9- Miramar again
I think it was great you stuck with your plan and didn't go to finesse until the end. This year I have been forcing myself to use other lures and it's really paid off for me with poppers and stickbaits. I very much prefer the topwater bite, and I think I'm not alone there. :) Yesterday the topwater ...
