Agreed, it's seems like a few of the members on here are the cornerstone of the site. I appreciate you guys for caring the weight.
I spend the majority of my fishing days on the ocean, butI will see what I can do to add to the content. I love your posts, so I can see what the freshwater front is up ...

OK so here's a few...not on subject but seemingly on topic. All from Hodges last Saturday. They seem to be getting harder to find...

V is for victory!
..as in victory over a bunch of healthy, hard fighting fish.
When my brother planned his trip down here the first thing I did was book a guided trip with my buddy Andre Casey. As the trip date approached, San V was the clear choice with numbers still showing up and quality of the fish getting ...

The pics probably show only half the fun you guys had landing those bass that day..
A day that you and your brother will never forget.
Thanks for sharing and a shout out to Andre Casey too.

Re: Murray AM
Agree VB and have to admit I’m not in a hurry to post about slow days. So here…hit the Cap on Sunday and it was rough on us. Landed 2 dinks fishing shallow and that was it for both of us. We were planning to scoot early anyway before the oven turned on but the lack of catch made it easy. My ...

Re: Murray AM
Hi VB,
Agree on the need for posting also. I work at a computer most of the day ( dreaming I am fishing ) so I like to take breaks to see what's happening out in the fishing world. It's great to see the updates and I like to read them all. It also helps inform those of us who only get a couple days ...

Re: Murray AM
These are the only 2 LMB I’ve caught since August of last year. Last weekend at Dos Picos. Believe me I would post more if I had more time to fish.

This One is For VinnyBass
Well, I don't fish the lakes as much as I should. Ocean fish just taste so good=)
I had a good friend (A saltwater guy too) ask if we could get his Granddaughter out on the lake. San V being my favorite, that where we headed.
Got there at 5:20 Thursday, 2 boats ahead of us. They let us up hill ...

Most fun and unusual baits for bass
Although I haven’t been fishing in over a month and probably won’t go for another month I thought I would put this out there. For me it has been fun to get them on the rat, the mudbug (crawdad) and the Black Cockatoo! What are some of your unusual baits?

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass
Crawbaits and rats are kind of normal and you know you bought that crazy Cockatoo bait just for Minnesota...ha ha.
Actually I tried to think of some strange baits or usual baits I have used to catch bass and when I first used a Tokyo rig, it looked strange and never thought it would work until my ...

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass
Rat for sure. The unusual lure that comes to mind is the deps sonar. It’s a swim bait that’s jointed but the rubber skin around it makes the joint less flexible and the tying point is dead center on the side. It literally moves like a forward scanning sonar. I’ve caught a quite a few fish on it but ...

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass
Two weeks ago I was at Barrett and saw a dead rabbit in the water. I realized why the big rat lures work right there.
But for me, consistently this crazy crawler is the strangest thing I use ( and variants ) and every week I get some fish to claim it.

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass
The pompadour has worked great. I have a couple small snakes that I've yet to catch a fish with but I haven’t used them that much yet. Soooo many lures and so little time (only eight hours per trip twice a week). 😎
Besides, the Buzzbait and the boottail fluke, and the popper are working so well ...

Fuego!
Got to fish San V yesterday morning with SDFish member Oh Da Shiz off his boat.
San V is just en fuego right now. Mostly a finesse plastic bite but they were chomping. Find the shade, find the mud, find the fish. Definitely the best local bite going that isn’t on the downlow.
We ended up with ...

@CorsoEnthusiast it was a good morning for sure. Definitely a finesse bite, even though I was lucky to get a couple on top water.

7/24-Lake Miramar Dink-Fest
With intent to go to Murray for a morning session with my kayak, I found myself suddenly getting on 8 West and then heading up 15 to Lake Miramar.
There was a recent posting on the SD City Lakes website that the lake was going to be closed to boats, kayaks and float tubes after July 4 for a while ...
