I'm taking my youngest son there this weekend and we rented one of their bass boats. Just looking for hints, since I don't know that lake at all.

Light Line is the key at DVL. I wouldn’t be fishing anything above 7lb on finesse setups. Can’t go wrong with a drop shot there. Just make sure you have weedless hooks as the stick ups there can eat some tackle. I like the Roboworm Rebarb hooks. Check the backs of coves for late spawners and if not ...

What a rush 🤣. But at least it’s a good sign maybe the bass will move in a bit shallower now. Most of my bass are still out deep that I’m catching from shore. Lots of these models starting to move in as well. I’ll go pound the shore at Murray, or Vicente tomorrow and press my luck.

This time of year, I’ve never been skunked at Otay throwing the hudd. NEVER. Went on a sea trial yesterday there, brought the rods and fished all day. Not even a bump.

Those are awesome! Actually made for someone missing an arm. You set the hook with your leg. I bought one for a friend who always wanted to fish but lost an arm when he was younger. They even make a one handed knot jig. Pretty cool. Definitely googan status of you have both your arms

Good job Sir! Sutherland has definitely been a struggle this year, sometimes a change of lakes or baits can give you a real boost! Congrats on braving the Saturday crew and getting some fish too...nice!

In reality, they were probably both trying to hump his bait! They’ll try to spawn up against the boat at Cap sometimes

Yep those 8-13” thin Senko fish in the trees were the pattern for me a couple weekends ago out there. Stark difference from Cap right now, there’s Bait boiling all over in open water there.
