Re: Anyone Ultralight fishing Bass in Barrett?
While I have fished small Swimbaits on 6 pound during the heat of the Summer, right now is Big Bass time. I’m throwing 30 Braid and 15 Fluorocarbon leader on a 2500 size Spinning Reel and a 7 foot 10-20 fast taper rod. Really lays it to them. The thing is the next fish you get there could be 8-10 ...

Re: San V...summer coming!
Nice work out there McFish. Good to see you switched tactics and caught a nice dozen bass. I sent you a PM.

Going to be Combat Fishing for a few weeks. The Crappie will be deep now. Quality over quantity is a high probability as all the fish have been forced to live in a smaller area. Big chows on Small. CPR the big Girls to maintain their genetics. Pull out all the Shad sucking Carp you can. More food ...

El Cap Friday
Decent size Friday crowd on yet another cooler, breezier Late May day. WTH is the warmer weather? Anyway for the 3rd straight Cap trip, I caught a fish on my first cast. I can’t say that’s ever happened before. And then after thinking it will be WFO, it turns out to be anything but and just a slow ...

Hodges reopening
Hey y'all, glad to see someone started a SDfish page again. Whoever you are thank you. Not sure if anyone has posted about this yet but Hodges is supposed to open up on the 31st of May. Shore fishing, float tubes, and kayaks are permitted as well as renting boats. No private boats yet due to the ...

40 fish days are still very possible. 20 fish days are easy tehre right now. Gonna be goooood
It might not be that way seeing how much they have raised and lowered the water levels so drastically this past year. That fluctuation of water really puts a strain on those fish. If you have been to ...

It's official
Sutherland is DEAD! Never seen anything like it! I thought a bunch of rain would rejuvenate the lake but exactly the opposite seems to be true. Every fisherman I talked to (both of them) seemed to have a different explanation but all agreed; the fishing stinks! To top it off the forestry was weed ...

Somewhere in the land of a lake not far from Ramona lies a giant group of thousands of slimy green critters swimming around in a tight throng laughing their gills off at a solo human in a rubber lounge chair flailing about WAYYY above them with a stick and string in his hand and phony offerings ...

Re: San V Boat Rental
I was at SV yesterday at 10a with no problems with rentals. No wait and plenty of boats.
I was told by Chris (one of the workers there) that it would be more crowded than usual this weekend due to the holiday. I imagine there would still be plenty of boats available BUT there will be a lot of water ...

❓ Is Murray still being weird
Anyone fish Murray lately? I saw it's been weird and the water level has been in flux the last few weeks. If you did go, how was it? I'm highly contemplating Murray tomorrow.

Re: ❓ Is Murray still being weird
The water level has been fluctuating a few feet even just from my last three trips there. It went down then back up a little bit, and a tiny bit higher on Friday morning. I did not worm fish much after no bites, but managed to catch six bass and a trout on reaction baits. This whole water level ...

Re: ❓ Is Murray still being weird
While I have no proof, I certainly think the fluctuating water has messed with the spawn for both bass and bluegill. I have been hunting bigger bluegill while on foot. The lower water has made more shoreline that I can work with a fly rod accessible, and also made the drop offs more reachable from ...

San V 5-27
I was finally able to get out on the boat after a couple month hiatus, so I decided to go to San V. I was surprised to pull up at 5:45 and only see about 11 trailers in the parking lot on Memorial Day weekend.
As I was prepping the boat to launch (cleaning all the cob webs off), I got a chance to ...

Re: San V 5-27
So great to see you back on the water again.
Father and son time fishing together always is special. I can still think of all the times my father
took me fishing and great memories we shared together. Anyway best wishes and tight lines always.
