Miramar..when all else fails, dropshot deeper!!

Im fairly new to serious fishing (about a year and a half now) and caught my first freshwater bass on the 20th. So stoked. Also cool it’s minutes from my home.

Hey guys, just went to Miramar on Tuesday. Second time fishing the lake I meant to get there early but Siri couldn’t give me the directions she kept coming up with Lake San Marcus. I kept saying lake Miramar, she kept coming back with Lake San Marcus so I was a half hour late, finally found the lake ...

Well El Cap may have been a grind yesterday, but Otay was amazing today! I kinda lost count a little bit but my final total was somewhere between 50-60 bass and 1 Bluegill. Most of the bass were topwater with 15 or so coming as a combination of cranks, jerks and even a few worms.

Vinny you are my hero! I couldn't find a decent bite when I was there last. By the way, I met a guy fishing at Otay yesterday named Derek who said he set up your boat. He was throwing spoons and killing it. Made me think of you. Glad you are back out on the water where you belong!

You sure did great, we only got 3 and that was tough, and as you say we stayed in the tules, that lake has the most tules I’ve seen it brought me back to the early days at Lake Otay in the tules. I’ve got to explore some deeper areas now that I’m back to fishing some.

Great job, as usual.

Got on the water a little after 5:00 am and landed 6 really nice topwater fish within the first 45 minutes. At that point I was thinking WhooHoo! Otay all over again. Then the sun came up and the bite turned off like someone flipped a proverbial switch.
