Caught few mullet on a swimbait in the past

My first spotfin! Red krabbypatty fly at Blacks, 7:00AM, -1ft tide. Kelp was a nuisance and got worse as the tide came in. I did not see any corbina.

Croaker on gulp worms and probably 6 perch as well. Nothing too great size wise but fun nonetheless.

On Labor Day sunset, I caught a legal barracuda from the surf, 28 inches, on a t-rigged white fluke in the La Jolla area.

I caught a short one from the sand in June, but this was a big surprise.

Seeing 30 foot surf from the beach will just look like lots of whitewater almost everywhere, unless you have a pier, or surfers for perspective. First time Surf fishing. I was fishing in the morning for 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Caught 5 Perch. A lot of fish nibbling on my bait. Maybe I will try a small hook next time. No seaweed that was a good thing.

Got my best fish of the year (so far) today. Nice 22" vina. Knew it was a vamp when it went nuts on the surface. Fly fell out of its mouth at shore. Also tagged my first midshipman and smallest halibut.
