Re: Cap the 16th

The Autoboat smarthead has been amazing on my float tube. Crazy that I can spotlock just like on my boat.

Great Murray day 3/19

Had a really good BFS day at the Murr. Final count was 24. The largest was just under 4 lbs. Most were in the 2-3 pound range, with a few dinks scattered in there. Even the short fish were pretty weighty with bellies bulging from shad.

The best part was that the first 11 bass were all on top water ...

3/20- Fished Murray

Not fully recovered from a sore throat, fever and bad cough, I decided to take your advice Dannicus and get off my lazy sick butt and hit Murray this morning. Thank you for the inspiration I needed. I can't agree with you more on your last Murray report as no bass are
biting and there is absolutely ...

I already do driving the damn boat!! 😂

Seriously, he is considering it too. He knows from my bass boat how much it helps.

Dfishin wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 5:01 pm That's right I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. Do you use it in salt water?
A bit less than fresh, but yes. If I don’t have to, I leave the motor up and out of the salt water altogether.

Yeah it was kinda weird, but I'm not complaining. I'm always good when a top water bite is going off!

Not for me it isn't. My knees are still jacked up from getting stuck in it while trying to get out. I'll leave that to you youngsters for the time being haha.

EMAS charity event 3/23

I got the opportunity to fish the second annual EMAS charity event hosted by our very own Chris Brandt, AKA The Beef Shaman, AKA Pourboy at Barrett.

The lake was in great shape, and people were posting the usual awesome Barrett numbers. I only got 30 myself, but I managed to find a larger fish ...

Re: EMAS charity event 3/23

Way to go on the tank pattern Dannicus!! 👏 Was hoping to see you out there but maybe you stayed in Main or Pine? We were in Hauser all day.

Honestly I don't know the areas of the lake well enough to name them, but I was fishing the rocky bluffs on both sides of the main lake just up from pigs ...

Stoked you all got to have an awesome day out there!

El Cap (3/22)

Hi all,

I've been slacking on the fish reports over the past few weeks, but I've been out there and have had some solid days on the water. I got out to Cap yesterday and continued working on finding the spring pattern. I was on the water at about 7:00 a.m. with the plan to fish the hot spots that I ...

Lake Vinnybass funk!

I fished Murray on Monday and found a pattern I wasn't expecting. After hearing rumors of topwater and shallow action the last couple weeks, I was expecting a fish bonanza yesterday! Well...not quite what I was expecting! I did end up with 12 fish, but it felt very much like a weird postspawn day ...

Re: Lake Vinnybass funk!

The lake level has fluctuated up and down just since me fishing there on Friday. I went over to the lake on Saturday afternoon
and the water rose a few feet higher than Friday. I went over today and after talking to you on their boat ramp yesterday, and
the water level went down more than a few ...

Dfishin wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 8:37 am So you are saying there are shad?
Thanks for the report!
We definitely saw shad and fry. One bass coughed up a nice, healthy shad during the fight. Easily a fat 2” model. I can neither confirm nor deny the thought of putting it on a hook was had LOL. We did not see any boils mid lake though.

Re: El Cap 3/24

Looks like you make it back to the north arm. How does you trolling motor battery hold up?
Has the mud improved for lunching?
Thanks for the report!
