3/13- Lake Miramar
I thought about driving all the way up to the Lake of D & K, but instead made a closer run up to Lake Miramar. Decided to just take my small 10' '5" kayak that has no electronics on it and also meant I could not take a lot of gear with me so I just loaded some worms and some creature type baits, a ...

Re: The grind
I think there’s much better lake fishing in a few months from now. Yeah catching spotties can be really fun but for me, I just like the challenge of trying to catch bass in the freshwater. My dad used to take me to the ocean fishing and to the lakes when I was a kid and we went almost every weekend ...

Pond D.K.
Well.....fished it twice since it opened, learned one thing: it fishes alot tougher than the last few years! The water level is extremely depressing! The lake has hundreds of rockpiles, unfortunately 95% of them are on dry land now. The bad news is there will be no boats on the lake this year...the ...

Morning bassin
Back to the camp lake this time in the morning. Made the mistake of taking a work call while fishing and of course got bit. Set the hook and it was a giant, tried to be calm and was mostly successful. Fought her for a minute or so, she stayed down and took some line...then came up to say hi, jumped ...

Re: El cap 3-15
Nice to see you out there Robert!
Sundays was fun for me, I had a banner morning on the jig. I didn’t pick up the neko all day Sunday believe it or not.

El Capitan 3/17
Had a pretty good day at El Cap, final count was 7, all jig and worm fish, but nothing big.
That will be my last trip to The Captain until they raise the water some. I got completely stuck in the mud trying to launch and wrenched both my old arthritic knees trying to get out. Our wonderful lakes ...

Re: El Capitan 3/17
A reminder from your Mayor Toad Gloria and the City council: the lakes are for storing water, not for fishing...And because of your leaders, the lakes now suck at both!

Re: El cap 3-15
Thanks for the report! They said 1 more week of water draw then they are going to take from San V. Then back to Cap.
Hmmmmm....I was always told water can't go from San V to El Cap! Interesting!
It can’t. DFW and PUD confirmed that at the recent Friends of the San Diego Lakes seminar with ...
