Here's a 12 incher I got from Hodges this time of year several years ago. I caught it on a "glide" cough cough hahaha It was never weighed or measured, just a pic and released. The hatch lid is 18" so you can assume the length.

Had my weekly opportunity to shore fish from 4-6PM today.
Got 2.
Both drop shots.
The best part for me was I finally caught something on other than a RoboWorm or Senko.
Got one on a drop-shotted Yamamota pumpkin Kreature bait hooked once through near the nose.

I glad to see that SDfish is still alive and well. Good to see so many of the seasoned anglers still posting. As some may know I am no longer in SD however I have an attachment to this thread.

Took a little trip out East to the land of the Canals today for an afternoon session.

Had a blast! When it’s good out there, it’s just so much fun.

Managed 10 or so largemouth and a couple smallmouth, including my first 2+ (don’t laugh, I’d never caught a Smallie until a few months ago lol) and ...

I kind of think bass ( maybe fish in general ) have no concept of their relative size to something they might eat. I think they basically go with the idea of "if it fits in my mouth, it was a meal".

Decided to take the cheaper fishing route(a recent new roof set me back $$,$$$$) so I headed down to the SD River for a morning session.
