A bit different today! Sept 2
The lake seemed a bit different today! First, my 7 and 9 year old sons fished the pants off of me and my buddy. Largely because they realized fairly quickly that the Crappie and Blue Gill were big and biting, while the bass fishing was more slow going (for us) than in recent visits. They landed 18 ...

Barrett report September 16th
Hi everyone,
Here's what happened at Barrett today for me. Got there about 0515 and in the water by 0545. Air temp was 60 and the water was 73.4, which is certainly cooler than you'd think for this time of year. I thought about it and since the lake is maybe 25-30 feet higher, maybe it's a better ...

Best. Day. Ever. (Aka Sept 17 report)
Sunday was the best day of bass fishing we’ve ever had. Maybe our best day of fishing period!
Me and my two boys (7 & 9) got on the water by 5:30am and fished for the next 13 hours. And we would have kept fishing if they let us! They air and water were cooler than in weeks past and the lake seemed ...

Re: Barrett report September 16th
Good to meet you too. Sounds like you did a little better, but still not the usual Barrett amazing numbers. It was a great day to fish, the fish just didn't seem to know it.

Re: Barrett report September 16th
It seems like the fish are mostly suspended, or buried deep in the moss-covered brush, especially getting more into those tough-to-catch-them postures as the day goes on.
Hi, I was using the panoptix to find them back in the usual places where they were previously busting. They are still in the ...

Barrett report September 23rd
Hi all,
Here's what I found for today. Got to the lake at 0515, on the water by 0545. Decided to peek about Wilson's creek for the early session. Buzzed around with some topwaters and then some underspins, but no takers. Water was a brisk 71.4 F, I didn't notice the air temp. Finally picked up a ...

September 24…Always a Puzzle to Solve
Took us till 9am ish to crack our code. Plastics bumping on the bottom in 10-15ft just outside the algae line yielded our first 8 bass. Had plans so trolled out of Hauser and got a bluegill(??) on a Rattletrap. WTF those gilleys are mean at Barrett!

Barrett Report June 1
Got out early morning as usual. Quite busy on this Saturday, but great to see a bunch of friends. It was warmer, but not warm. Water temp was 70F. Pedaled over to Hauser and started catching 2 pounders on the popper and the 110 jerkbait. Got a lot of short strikers on the topwater. Over to Becky's ...

Barrett Report June 22
Good day on the water at Barrett for Saturday. Got out dark and early which is my favorite. Water was already at 74F and the air was probably about 60 F. Slight chop from that evening wind. What was fun was the moon was so bright it almost was light enough. See first picture, that's not a sun, that ...

Barrett Report September 7
Got out a little later today, since the bite in the dark hasn't been that strong and sleeping in seems like a good thing. Air was 74F, Water was 78F. Light wind coming easterly. Played about in Wilson's creek and didn't have much topwater success. Managed to lose a pompadour lure though. That's two ...

Re: 5/14 Kayak/Tube Ticket
Hello Jorge,
Interested, should I be afraid of what " plus a tug" means?
I think it means a tow with the kayak. Is that a mandatory part of it? The timing might not be good.
Thanks
Not mandatory. Just throwing it out there in case whoever snags them up has a Kayak. Send me a private message ...

Re: How can I transfer tickets to a friend?
Whoever shows up at the lake just needs to give the name of the ticket purchaser when checking in with either Jose or Lori.

Re: Cabo Redemption?
I have been in touch with guide Wesley Brough about using his services, but haven’t finished our discussions… I primarily want to just fish for a couple of early morning hours every day.. Like I said, it’s not a fishing trip, but I would like to maybe get a couple of fish off of my bucket list…

Re: Cabo Redemption?
I would stop by Jansen inshore tackle. Hes got two locations in Cabo one in San Lucas and one in San Jose. Super friendly and knowledgeable guy that will help you out. His "cabo killer" lure, very similar to a roberts plug is a local favorite down there for the roosters and jacks.
