Took a trip down Memory Lane with shrimp pump in hand. Historically, good bite on incoming tide and today followed the pattern. '
23 or so fish, seven species. Sand and Spotted Bass, round ray, dink halibut, a buttload of chunky yellowfin croaker, diamond turbot and a rock wrasse.

Mission bay 8/10
This Sunday was rougher than the last. Spent a good bit of time working some new baits with little to no luck. 20 fish total a mixed bag of spotties and calicos. Few of the spotties being legal or just shy of it. Most were caught on the incoming tide in the morning. Bite shut down for me around 9 ...

Hey all,
I headed out last Sunday to Mission Bay with the hopes to make a video about making lure fishing easier. I wanted to showcase 3 baits that are easy for anyone to catch fish with on the bay. The first was the chatterbait. I used both the traditional bigger bait ...

Re: Interesting catch 8/31
A few years back, I caught one there at shelter Island. I thought I had just hooked up to some seaweed as I’m pulling it in. I’m thinking it’s just huge piece of see weed I get it to shore and it’s at least 6 feet wide from tentacles spread out and my lure is stuck and I’m trying to figure out how ...

North County SD
Went fishing about five or six times over the past few weeks for my first time in years. Happy to say that there are plenty more fish biting these days than two years go, when I left off. I've only caught BSP and Walleye SP, but I'll take it. Each session has been yielding at least a fish every 20 ...

Mission Beach Conditions
In case anyone has thought of hitting MB, you might want reconsider. Just got back from what was going to be a mid afternoon - early evening sesh. Red tide all the way from Jetty up to PB + heavy salad. Lifeguard said it started creeping in yesterday; today was real bad. Shame, water was so clear ...

My PB halibut from the surf at just over 27"... I don't really fish these guys as I prefer corbina and SFC but have caught a ton of them as by-catch, but mostly non-legals... Only a couple of legals... You would be surprised how many you can catch with sand crabs ...

Pismo-Morro Bay Fishing
Hey everyone,
Has anyone fished along Pismo to Morro Bay shorelines? Im Planning on going out this Thursday-Sunday. If so, what kind of fish are out there and what type of gear is a "must bring" and any bait/lures recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Pismo-Morro Bay Fishing
I’ve fished pismo a few times. Surf perch is the main targeteith lots of numbers but small. Same set up as here.
Striped bass are known to show. So you could dedicate jerk baits etc and “ignore” the perch.
There’s guys that get halibut up there on swim baits around Avila beach. I haven’t tried it ...

Took my dad to fish the surf...
He came all the way to see me (probably more to see the grand kids), and I took him to fish the surf. He has been a fresh water fisherman for decades but not the surf.
So I setup the gear and made a cast to show him how to do it. The next I knew, he was rocking this babe:

Eastern Sierra fun!
Just got back from 10 days in the Mammoth area. I've been fishing the area for 65 years, so I feel right at home up there! This time of year I mostly fish Crowley, Mary, George, and Mamie. Crowley was fishing great, midging was the ticket..pulling streamers wasn't as reliable. I picked up 12-14 fish ...
