SD Bay 12-7, slow

Fished with two guys from work. Morning incoming wasn’t even 2 feet. Hot, no breeze, fish were taking a nap like I should have been home doing. Got a handful, just wondering who else was out and if you found anything consistent.

Re: SD Bay 12-7, slow

Thanks for the info. We found the balls you are mentioning, I was running a bladed swim jig under them. Looks like I should have devoted more time to that.

Alright, the verdict’s in. Me and my buddies stunk it up,
plain and simple. They say the first step is admitting that you have a problem.

Re: San Diego Bay, Crazy Good Fishing!

Saw this yesterday on Youtube, great stuff as always. I was out this past Saturday and it was slow for me and apparently some others. I only saw one fish get landed by the numerous boaters and yakers out near the bridge. I’m hoping for a better day this Sunday.
On a side note, I switch the majority ...

Tackle Warehouse has good ones. Big eye so they don’t hang up on the split ring.

Re: Party crasher

Amazing catch. Unbelievable that you didn’t get chewed off. Where was the jig?

The jig hook caught in the corner of the mouth so the line never even rubbed against the fish. I felt the line afterwards and there wasn't even any abrasion on the line. When I got to shore, I put my rod in the rod ...

Morning or afternoon?

A question for bay anglers. I’m only available to fish on Saturdays and always choose a gentleman’s start(7:30am)out of convenience. It seems most anglers here prefer the morning session. Curious about other anglers experiences.

Got a few

Got a handful of nice bass, a few smaller ones. Biggest mackerel I’ve got in the bay and one slimer in front of Tidelands. Wind really picked up after lunch.

Re: Double Digit Bass! 2 Bites, 2 Big fish

Nice fish. My guess is the sign was put there to address the crowding during trout season. 20 guys in a tiny cove all throwing mini jigs at the same fish, then one guy in a boat parks there and screws it up for them. I gave up trout fishing a decade ago, I don’t want to compete against mini jiggers ...

Re: Tidelands Sunday

I was out on Saturday, saw the rays as well. Those osprey have no shame! Had a nice streak jigging in 35 ft just north of Tidelands. That was about it.

SD Bay silver lining 4/26

Fished yesterday solo. Caught a handful of bass. At 11 I hooked a better fish, felt like a halibut. Turned out to be my first ever butterfly ray. The wind was really gusting after lunch. I got my butt handed to me on the way in, roughest trip back I can remember in the bay. I didn’t have any ...
