I too got a few small trout at Doane the last week of the year. My first trout in probably 9 years or so. 700 fish is prolific!

This time of year trout is your best bet there. 4lb test, ultralight rod/reel combo and Powerbait is the easiest beginner set up. Just cast it out and wait til your rod tip starts bouncing.

After the previous storm I was in the back bay, saw 4 or 5 tumbleweeds cruising by. That was a funny sight.
