Re: Targeting Sharks

Land-based thresher would definitely be a baby, and quite a lucky catch at that!

Re: San Vicente Boilers (Video)

Some good fishing. What lb test do you use on your fluke rod?

In 2006 I landed a Coho at the mouth of SD Bay on a tube bait. Needless to say I was very surprised.

Re: San Diego Bay Fishing Dialed In! With A Bonefish Bonus!

Great fishing. Was this today? I was in that area today. Unfortunately for me, you got more “bonus fish” than I got all day! Maybe I need to try the 6lb test for a trip or two.

Re: Solstice Spotties no pics

After watching Pourboy’s video, now seeing this report, I think I may have dawned on me one of the reasons why you float tube fellas consistently catch more fish than I do. I fish from a 16’ Saturn in the same areas and rarely eclipse 15 fish. I typically can’t fish the smaller fluke and grub ...

Re: Last fish of the year...and a few others

ImageI too got a few small trout at Doane the last week of the year. My first trout in probably 9 years or so. 700 fish is prolific!

Re: Little staycation

Had to laugh. My boss gave me a GC for Ruth Chris last year for $50.00. I’m not sure if he knows that will get me a baked potato and an iced tea over there😂

Re: total begginer

This time of year trout is your best bet there. 4lb test, ultralight rod/reel combo and Powerbait is the easiest beginner set up. Just cast it out and wait til your rod tip starts bouncing.

Re: Gross

After the previous storm I was in the back bay, saw 4 or 5 tumbleweeds cruising by. That was a funny sight.

4/13 Coronado

Got up to the bridge right before 11. Steady action on the trusty crankbait. Also got a nice corvina in front of Tidelands on the underspin. Definitely a good day by my standards. 19 spotties with only a few dinks, 1 short halibut on a lipless crankbait of all things, 1 corvina and even a needlefish ...

Re: New PB from Sutherland

It’s uncanny how you hardly ever hear “ Things went exactly according to plan” when talking about landing the big ones! My two largest bass both come with some harrowing moments much like yours. Hang ups on structure, jumps that make your heart skip a beat, hooks hanging on by a thread. That ...

Re: How many have found a lure and fished it???

A couple of real nice ones there. I agree with the amount of refuse at Hodges. Many years ago I was near the bridge with my mom just walking the shoreline. We saw a grebe about 40yds out acting real funny. I realized he was hung up on some line that was wrapped on some submerged structure. I ...
