Re: Keel/underguard
You can buy some thermoform plastic called Kydex and glue it to the bottom areas you want to protect. There are quite a few guys that demonstrate the process they used on YouTube.

Re: Keel/underguard
I did originally started with a couple strips of black gorilla tape, but the cement ramps and fishing often pretty much tore into it, so I just bought a Berley Pro keel guard for my PA 12 and so far it’s been great.

Re: Lowrance local maps
My Lowrance unit uses a micro sd card from Garmin Navionics and I just uploaded west coast maps from their website. It includes lakes. I had to do it twice before it worked in my unit, not sure why?

Re: Lowrance local maps
This is what I bought for my Raymarine, although I didn't know Garmin owns Navionics now;

There is also this if you're interested in a more in depth layout of lakes

I downloaded it so I can have a copy and then transferred it to an SD card. I wanted a larger sd so I could save more info on it

Re: Mussel free sticker
Hoping someone can help.
I registered my vessel, dmv gave me my sticker, told me i had to buy my own cf #'s elsewhere and that they don't provide them anymore.
I asked about the mussel free sticker for fresh water lakes. They stated I need to order 1 off there website. So i went on the website ...

Re: Mussel free sticker
Not sure if AAA club (if you’re a member) can help out.
I get my boat tags there on the spot and they share the same system with the DMV.
For me, it’s worth the price of the membership for my other vehicle’s registration tags, no lines and no need to make an appointment.

Re: Mussel free sticker
I was wrong. My envelope from the Fish and Game was a 2026 fishing license. Weird because I didn’t order one but I’ll take it. Still no Mussel Sticker.

Re: Trolling motor wiring help
Nobody chimed in, I’m surprised. First thing I thought was you may of had some corrosion on the Negative Terminal or it wasn’t tight enough. Assuming you had 6g Wire coming off the Positive and it wasn’t Hot, there had to be some resistance to the Electricity returning to your Battery at the ...

Re: Trolling motor wiring help
Also, not a bad idea to glop the connections with dielectric grease, especially if they could get exposed to salt water spray. Scuffing up the battery terminals and wire terminals with a wire brush gives a better connection. Getting a good, tight crimp is critical too. I personally prefer solder ...

Re: Trolling motor wiring help
My experience came from running a full Electric Powered Bass Boat on Mission Viejo Lake. A 36 Volt Motor on the back with three 12 volt batteries in series, 1 deep cycle 12 volt battery running a 48x18 inch livewell under the middle seat plus the fuse box to the lights and radio. Then a 16 Volt deep ...

BUZBE Lure Sleeves
I always wanted to find something to carry a few guide type or small swim baits in while fishing in my kayak without having to lug another tackle storage box. I decided to give BUZBE Tackle storage a try. I had already recently got one of their modular storage boxes which I really like. I saw that ...

Re: anybody doing their own injection mold plastics?
So if you don't break the lures off of the runner and just use the whole thing as a lure, the fish will be seeing a creature bait the likes of which they have never seen before. Looks like a nightmare version of a centipede i.e. maybe lunch to a big fish.

Re: California Boater Card
Finally, after 1 or 2 hours each weekend, and 2 months later, I have completed my boater card courses and final exam. I missed only 1 question regarding the light color for full access in a lock. The answer is "amber", i knew this but answered green. I looked it up and the internet is saying green ...
