Late start to making a fishing decision combined with 8 West & 15 North traffic, I finally was ready to launched my kayak this morning around 8:30 up at Lake Miramar. Tossed some swim baits for a while and then wasted a lot of fish time going way down to the end of the lake to Escondido arm for one ...

Late report from Sat 3/15 San V
Deja vu all over again!
Headed out after our set of storms not quite sure what to expect but found several willing little bucks fairly early. Had a steady pick of 2lb clones throughout the day.
The day was almost literally a repeat of last weeks trip. I ended with 18 again. Best five were just ...

Re: Bank fishing for bass
Lake, Jennings and Lake Poway are two SD County lakes that come to mind and have lots of shoreline you could access for bass fishing.
The obvious lake that I would suggest would be Lake Murray as it has also lots of shoreline for bass fishing. It probably is the easiest to fish from shore. Also all ...

Lake Jennings trout season 2024-2025
November 13, 2024
Trout Opener: Trout Opener is this weekend! Wright’s Rainbows will stock 2,500 pounds for the opener. Our trout come from a family owned, commercial aquaculturist in Idaho. Ten percent of every stocking is over 3 pounds. We will stock 19,000 pounds of trout this season. The bait ...

I got to the lake about 6:30am, caught five bass real quick, all males cruising the bank, so i thought I would try for a few bluegill.

Re: Monday San Vee trip
Thanks for thinking of me. @Str8t Slabaronies was kind enough to text me. Those are beautiful fish. I have issues that have kept me off the water this year so far, but I think I'm close to coming back.

Re: San Vicente Lake Record Redear 4.2 lbs Released
[mod], that is a [mod] monster. Unfortunately it probably died but damn! You weren't fishing for bass with a 2lb setup on hand.

Re: San Vicente Lake Record Redear 4.2 lbs Released
Those quagga mussels are mighty tasty to a redear. Redears are growing like crazy elsewhere too.

Re: San Vicente Lake Record Redear 4.2 lbs Released
That’s awesome! I can’t believe it took 21 years for someone to break the record. Look at that belly full of eggs. I’m sure the quaggas play a key roll for these fish to grow as big as they do.
