No eats on the frog, but all my fish came on topwater at Lower O yesterday. Busters everywhere in the area I was fishing and they were eating my little JDM topwater as soon as it hit the water.

We were there in the afternoon from about 4 on Saturday. Rangers never came around to chase us off so we fished till 8:30 and left cause we didn’t have light. But man… it was pretty nuts and so much fun.

Brother and I checked out Miramar this morning. That lake will probably never be in my regular fishing rotation if I’m honest. A lot of the reason I go fishing is for the peace and quiet - being able to hear every conversation every soccer mom walking around the lake is having doesn’t really fit ...

It was definitely a weird day yesteday. I figured with the full moon being two days prior and that weird storm system coming through they’d be bananas. I didn’t even get a bite in the morning session, came back and fished the afternoon from shore just to get the skunk off, but even that was a grind ...

100%, the most fun fishing of this entire year so far for me has been the topwater bite at Otay. Floating in the middle of a massive baitball with fish busting all around and having them eat my topwater as soon as it hit the water ...

Got there late @ 0800 hrs.
By 0900 hrs, was too sun-exposed and freakin' hot to continue.

Haven’t been to my “home lake” in awhile cause the evening shore bite has been really slow lately. Decided to venture out Monday since it was the full moon to see if maybe they were chewing.

Funny thing is, tube is way more stable than a kayak is for me. Also way less “tippy” feeling even if you have good secondary stability in a yak. I feel like I’m fishing out of a giant inflatable pool chair lol
