I know it's totally my fault...

Post by Dannicus »

When we were all fishing Sunday I was chatting with Doug AKA @Early release , and told him that I couldn't honestly remember the last trip where I got skunked....well.... Not only did I jinx myself I got the whole group too. DOH!

So I returned to Murray yesterday determined to smell better, and the fishing gods gave me another big skunky face slap. Then I proceeded to read about other guys getting blanked as well, and all I can say is I am truly sorry for my inadvertent hex. Thank God for Vinny's 10 inch river giant to give me a modicum of hope.

I'm (ALMOST) ready to resign myself to drop shotting a worm, but like washing black socks, something inside me says don't do it yet. 😣

Another day or two of this and I'll be changing my forum name to dumbskunkboy2025

See you all out there, and worry not! I've learned my lesson. :D

It’s been a rough start to the year as far as fishing goes. 2024 was good up until the 3rd week of December and since then I’ve probably taken more skunks than I did in the first 6 months of 2024. Hoping Hodges is the cure this weekend!

Dan, I was lucky as ......well, you know what to even catch that micro bass at the river yesterday. In 2025, it has been a bad start
for me also as I have not caught a single bass that even got near tipping the scale at 2lbs. My only highlight was only one bass,
the 3.25 bass at the river in late January. It always is tough during this time of year, but this year has been terrible for many
others also. I know things can only get better and hopefully with Hodges opening, you will be pulling in nice healthy bass soon.
Tight lines
Hang in there as your new forum name may soon be "CheckoutthisBass2025"

This is the slowest start of a year I can remember. I'm hoping that the spring is so amazing that we all never speak of this strange time again. Hodges opens tomorrow. Sending good vibes out that the curse is lifted.
