San V...must be Monday!
I've missed my San V Mondays! I got to the lake in the dark, who invited all these people? I'm thinking there's some pre-fishing going on for the tournament this weekend! The water is probably up 20' from my last trip here, now I know where my Sutherland water went! The first couple hours were a little slow, I was expecting more fish to be up tight with the water at 60-61 degrees. I started by fishing flats and shallows, but after a couple hours and only a couple fish, I switched to steeper banks with boulders and that was the ticket! I ended up with 16 fish, most were caught between 11:00-1:00. Most of the fish were 2lb clones, I'm thinkin the females are still sitting outside, waiting for the full moon and some stable weather.

Re: San V...must be Monday!
It has been so long since I've seen a "McFish Monday" report from you that I thought with old age creeping up,
you may have forgot that you like to fish on Mondays at San V. Glad to see you remembered to fish and post
a report from you and looks like you picked up where you left off. I think that I found one of your secret patterns
as you always wear the Yamaha hat when fishing San V and different hat at the Lake of D & K....Hmmmmm?
The water was up eh?....gee..we know where that water came from. No wonder I caught small fish Sunday
as the nicer fish are ending up in San V...ha ha
Anyway looks like you had a fun time and thanks for sharing.
Tight lines always buddy

Damn it was killing me to be at work yesterday and not on the water!!! Glad to see someone got out there and had some fun! Lots of 2lb males up shallow all around the lake right now. Makes for a fun day of fishing

Thanks for the report, did you notice the water temp toward the end of the day, how much did it go up in the shallower areas? John and I are heading out on Friday and I'm wondering if we should do San V or El Cap.

Re: San V...must be Monday!
I was mostly on the main lake, didn't go up Toll road or Kimball...at 2:00 I still mostly saw 61 every where I was. The Aquaduct and the stairs were still pumping in water, so I'm assuming that's colder water if it's coming from up north and Sutherland. Things change everyday this time of year though! Go get em!Early release wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 8:24 am Thanks for the report, did you notice the water temp toward the end of the day, how much did it go up in the shallower areas? I’m sure there will be plenty of boats vying for that spot in the tournament this Saturday!Mcfish wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 8:47 amI knew you would be bummed!
