Yes Shimofuri Gobies eat barnacles and other shellfish so I'm sure they eat quagga mussels.

Catfish, Bluegill, Redear Sunfish and even Striped Bass have all been found to have mussels shells in their stomachs.

Fish will be opportunistic in utilizing them as food if it suits them.

The mussels are still here. They prefer to settle out in darker places like the underside of rocks, inside pipes etc, so they may be less noticeable because they are hidden. The other side of that is they may get eaten where easily accessible and picked off of visible surfaces by predation.

I don't know anything about invasive weeds in SD Bay, it's way under my radar screen at the moment.

Interesting find! It looks like you've stumbled upon a logperch, a type of freshwater fish. They're known for their slender bodies and are often found in rivers and streams

About 4 years ago I had asked Queue, why don't they stock walleyes, PERCH, muskies, and smallmouth bass into the deeper cooler lakes. He said there will never be perch in them. Not exactly the right species but....
