Lake Murray Mid Week 8/30

Post by Dannicus »

I went fishing mid-week at Murray last Wed. (retirement rocks). I caught 6 bucket mouths total all quality bass. 2 were on the flats with a roboworm on a dropshot. All the rest were caught working the edges of tules with jigs and Senkos. All in all, a great day on a lake who's water is finally raising a bit.

Nice job out there. It looks like you got your Bixpy that you told me you wanted to get. Bet that helps getting around the lake for you.
The water level has pretty much stabilized as they told me that it is not coming up anymore, so at least if it stays the way it is, the fish will not be traumatized over the numerous up and down water levels this year. I need to get back over to Murray as I was having lots of fun up at Miramar lately.
Hope to see you out there soon. Tight lines. :-)

Good job, are we able to launch private boats at Murray?

Neil, You can launch a boat as the end of the ramp is about 22 feet in the water. I just am really careful when I put the boat back on the
trailer as there are rocks at the end of the boat ramp. Water is still pretty low. Always remember my buddies prop hitting the rocks years ago when the lake was really low. You should be fine as many boats are launching.....tight lines :-)

Just an FYI regarding the launch conditions again....here is a pic when I was putting my boat away on my trailer the other day.
This will give you guys an idea on roughly how close the end of the ramp is. You should be fine unless they start to lower the water again.
