7/9 Whoever smelt it

Post by Zach »

Did an early morning session from 0630-1130; dock hopping Bayfront Park. Had a nice overcast day and slightly more wind than I prefer. There were absolutely no spotties to be found, but fortunately the day didn't end in a skunk. Two for the session—a needlefish (which I was a little surprised by) and a smelt. Top water smelt were everywhere, you would see one jumping at least every 30 seconds. If I had a rig for smelt I would have probably given it few more hours but decided to call it just as the sun started coming out.
