The Mystery continues.....

Post by Mcfish »

Sutherland is making me crazy! I fish it most fridays..starting back in March, and it's not getting any easier to figure out! A couple weeks ago, I had a decent day and thought I had figured out the puzzle..but no, pretty much back to scratch! Every week, we keep saying next week, next week comes and it's pretty much the same! I fished 7 hours today, caught a decent fish and 5 smaller clones. The fish are definitely eating something because they all have some girth to them. I suspect they're chasing shad in deeper water..the only pattern I can't really fish in a tube. What started as a decent friday crowd 4 months ago, has dwindled down to a few hardy souls who don't mind the frustration. It's sad because the lake looks so good....maybe next week..lol.

Geez… the mystery at Sutherland continues and sadly has kept away many anglers including myself. At least you’re picking up some bass and that one looks nice. I am almost tempted to drive up there because you know how much fun it is when I can be there as your personal depth finder… and share countless fish stories with you ..ha ha Thanks for sharing and tight lines always.

It was good to see you out there yesterday morning and I was hoping you would find them and catch a bunch. Very frustrating having our home lake doing so poorly this year. I won't bother going to Sutherland, at least not this week. I'm gonna head down to San V on Monday. Maybe I'll see you out there.
Thanks for the report!

Spoons! Fished Sutherland once many moons ago and watched a guy absolutely stroke em with a spoon offshore while we struggled trying everything else.
