Hodges
Hodges
I texted a friend the other day to see if he was able to launch at Hodges and he said that on a Wednesday not sure if it was last Wednesday got locked in / he said that he had talked to the Ranger on the ramp and to his surprise when he got to the gate it was locked. I have heard of this happening on one other time but, this Ranger locked the gate knowing that there was still someone on the ramp so, maybe a pair of bolt cutters should be a part of your gear. Crazy, Later
Re: Hodges Locked
Oh lets see if anyone can guess which Ranger might have done this : he likes to take his buddies fishing on the clock in the boat provided by the City of San Diego

Re: Hodges
Had a ranger at San V chase us off 1 hour before sunset. Heck the sun was still shining un our faces. Website state "sunset", which is still way too early. I argued with him to no prevail and told him that I paid for my permits and what the website states. He just want to go home early... 100%

It was 3 weeks ago on Wednesday and I couldn’t get my truck and kayak till Saturday morning! Tried to call the city and they never returned my call and I think he’s a city worker not a ranger. I fish there a couple times a week all year long never had any issues, but I think you’re right they just wanted to go home early!

Re: Hodges
Any word on "launch" conditions. I fished Hodges on Labor day, I was in mud almost to my knees for a long time before I could climb into the kayak. That black mud/clay is nasty and gets everywhere. Hoping the deeper water is closer??

Note in the future call 911 and get a sheriff out there however you could get a ticket but, the reality is that they are suppose to make sure that every car is off the property before they lock the gate.
Dude, we would push it to the point where we would start to feel uncomfortable and when we drove past the Ranger's Station Conway was in his office and by the time he made the rounds everyone had long since left. I can't recall him ever rushing us out the gate. Not to say that was the case with others. Good news there are some good Rangers coming in that are cool and intentionally locking someone in the park is not in their DNA. Whoever this guy was needs to be talked to and written up. Yep you said that's f ed Up.
