Great day at Barrett with my son!

Got to hit Barrett on the 24th with my son. Both on our own kayaks. It was his first time here since last year. We had a blast even though for a day at Barrett, the bite was slow. We wrapped up by 2:30, me with 16, him with 10, a solid day of fishing on any lake in San Diego! We did have a friendly bet involving lunch at McDonald's. I was victorious and downloaded salt, fat and endorphins on the drive home! As well a sense of true gratitude for getting to spend a day on the lake with my son!

Looks like a great time. What were the go to baits/retrievals for you guys?

We used senko's pretty much all day, 297 color, and a shallow diving crank bait in sexy shad color. Tried the Ika, with no takers. Went around the main lake first thing, across from the dock, then up to the entrance to hauser, across to pine, and really only 1/3 back. My boy was spent, so we headed back early.
