Today would have been my father's birthday so I kept to a tradition to go fishing today in his honor. I was so fortunate as a kid growing up as my father took me fishing almost every weekend. I always remember being so excited that I would wake up an hour or two early and could not go back to sleep just thinking about our fishing trip. I exclusively started fishing for bass only and everything was old school back then... like using a split shot up the line when fishing with a plastic worm. Creme worms were the best back in those days and then of course the Delong "Otay Specials." I remember my father telling me don't let mom find out that you are using one of her pans to boil those "Otay worms." Back then you would take it out and stretch it and put in under cold running water and the worm would now be between 7 to 9 inches and much better action.
Of course I could go on and on but anyway I caught a handful of bass this morning at Murray... but was mostly reflected on so many great memories of fishing with my father.
Thank Dad!
