Cap 11/2
Got there bright and early said hello to Chris and Dan before departure made few stops on way to the back no luck with crank or 3 sizes magic swimmers I also threw lipless, jig and underspin the fish started to bust around 730-8 mostly around beginning of north arm my dad got one I missed one on magic swimmer I threw hover fish roller 5” got desperate with a baitcaster didn’t bring a spinning rod I planned on magic swimmer working which with no wind for most part till I’d say 11 made it tough seemed like lure was to visible so I changed to hover rig and on caster hooked a nice fish fought great when I pulled it into my net my rod broke like 2ft down top phenix maxim medium mod fast was my neko or Dropshot rig I got the fish in net at least when it broke but now I only had 3 medium heavy rods which sucked to try to hover and was pretty much useless with my dad I have very limited space I don’t want to risk losing a rod or two overboard so I only bring 3 or 4 and in first hour my dad birds nested one reel so after other rod broke was basically screwed then wind blew like a son of a bitch so we called it with a fish each at noon
the fish were not interested anything artificial but I messed up bring light spinners next time

Re: Cap 11/2
That's too bad about your rod. Those El Cap fish fight like they really mean it. Little tunas they are.
