I got on the water at 5:30. In the summer months I am not dropping the kids off at school everyday, so I do get on the water earlier albeit less frequently. They'll be seniors next year, which is hard to believe.
Anyway I saw @VinnyBass out there on his electronics-free kayak doing his Vinny thang. He told me he got 11. He did better than me, I only got 5, but I ignored any topwater, or swimming baits, and focused on pitching the edge of the tules. I did manage 3 in the three pound range give or take a couple of ounces.
There were a lot of busters, mostly small that I saw but a few bigger ones are coming up too. Next time I'll likely be back on top again lol.

Yes it was my maiden voyage at Murray with my small electronics free kayak but in this case please don't let the quantity of bass fool you as you actually faired much better than me with you catching 3 bass in the 3 pound range.
Heck all of my bass but one, were very small. The busters were up and down so fast and I probably should have worked plastics closer to shore like you and I had to make what seems like 50 plus casts for each tiny bass.
I just have to say that when you showed me at the boat ramp some of your baits you throw, I was totally blown away. It was absolutely amazing on how real some of those tiny baits look and the action they have in the water. I can see how hard it would be for a bass to resist seeing one of those go past him. Heck,it was hard for me to hot jump in the water and devour one of them and I am not even a bass...ha ha
Anyway, always great to see you out on the water and chat with you. Please...No more month long vacations.
