Got out in the dark with Chuck and Steve around 0430. Air was chilly at 55F, but water had cooled a bit to 71F. Chuck went along our usual path and did quite well, I'll leave those details to him. I went to Wilson's creek and along that shoreline, throwing the rat in hopes of a nice large surprise. I was surprised by a 1.5 pound fish who really gave the rat a good effort. Over the next hour I mixed the rat, pompadour, popper and Rapala and had a lot of fun with the usual suspects. The rat mostly got missed today, but once I had a miss, I'd throw the pompadour in the same spot and usually got a 2-3 pound fish. It was kind of my search tool. Went back into pine, with Ismael, we did pretty well with various topwater. No love for the 110 jerkbait though. Got done around 1100, wind had come up and was about 10 kts. Water temp was 74F and air was 83F.

Re: Barrett Lake June 25th report
Hey Dave, I was going along the bank and talked with a guy who was using his FF sonar, he saw several bait balls and we did play around with some surface fish there, but they were the 10-12 inch variety. I went further back in Pine and did turn on my Panoptix and saw bait balls in 28 feet of water and they were 8 feet below the surface, but no gamefish below them. So, I think the shad are coming up. I actually think that the grassy banks will help that whole situation. But I am still getting some very skinny fish, so some of the bass aren't finding a lot to eat.
