Nice to see @CorsoEnthusiast and @Early release today at El Capitan. Later in the afternoon @KillinTime (John) came by and introduced he and his son. We had a great chat. I have met so many awesome folks here on the forum.
I ended up catching 11 total. Most were between 2-3 lbs with the largest tipping the scale at 4.1. All came courtesy of either a jig or my skirted Texas rigged Ned bait concoction that I previously described in the BFS section. Every fish caught was so close to the bank they were practically walking the shoreline I was throwing my bait up onto the shore and gently plopping it into the water.
Anyway a fun albeit chilly day out there. I definitely should have brought a jacket.
Cheers

Great meeting you out there too Dan! That was a great conversation we had going. Thanks for showing me you BFS setups and gear. I definitely need to put one in the arsenal. Not a big fan of spinning reels, just use them out of necessity. Your float tube is a total Cadillac, and that Bixby-board really scoots. I'm sure it has a galley, head and V berth below the deck =D
Keep living the good life Brotha and hope to see you out there again soon. That maybe sooner than later, since I have done more freshwater fishing this year then the last few.

My pleasure brother! With all the potential lake closures (thanks city council) I may have to explore more bay fishing, but for an aging arthritic soul like mine, it presents a whole different set of challenges.KillinTime wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 5:41 pm Great meeting you out there too Dan! You and your son are obviously salt of the earth fine people and I am very glad to have met you. Like your son told you, I am not sure how you managed a day out there in shorts. I was frickin cold lol.
