On the hunt 9/30/24

Post by Roncador »

Has really been a piss poor year for me in the big bay with only 7 corvina and nothing over 3lbs. Decided to hit mission after work yesterday fish the incoming for an hour. Got around 15 fish to follow in my Sammy, I would burn it in and watch the wake behind my bait get bigger and bigger until it saw me and spooked. And that was nearly every fish, very spooky. Only managed three blowups but nothing stuck. Fish are definitely getting active right now. Sometimes I wonder if like their speckled Sea trout cousins they have a second but much shorter spawn in the fall. Would be nice to get some actual concrete data on that. Anyways sorry I couldn't get any pics. If they don't wanna bite they just don't.

On another note, the two year probation period I had with the FGC is now over and I will be submitting another petition to the state. It might be a waste of time but I'm gonna keep bugging them until something happens. Go follow @shortfincorvina_petition2.0 on Instagram for updates.

Next time me and my grandpa take the aluminum down to the south bay I'll have to try the football jig. What's the trailer if you don't mind me asking. Looks homemade.

Thats a Pourboy beaver burn(homemade). As in Pourboy who make videos now. He probably has the molds still. I only have the big version.

Twin tails work good too. Couldnt get touched on the realistic 3d craw. Go figure?
