down quickly and mainly concentrating on eating shad. Picked up a couple clones on spoons and then started tossing a small
jerk bait, then a super fluke.
After a bit, I thought I would try something I used to do years ago. I rigged a small paddle tail fluke and started working it.
I remember some days at Murray where all I did was use that rig and it was quite effective. At first, I ended up having a number
of bass hit it, roll over it and then boned a number of hook sets. Then I started reeling it back pretty fast skimming the surface
and started picking up some bass. It was pretty exciting to see how suddenly the water would explode and amazed how quickly
those bass were to catch up to it. Anyway.....most of the bass today were clones but really have been putting up a good fight.
Heck I think I missed at least a half a dozen but was able to land 9 of those aggressive little buggers.
It seemed like I caught more....I guess from having a number of bass on the line and then come unbuttoned..ha ha
Anyway....still had a fun time catching some bass and to be out on the water again. The big plus was that the weather
was a lot nicer than it had been. Hopefully the weather that feels like you are going to melt is gone...ha ha.

The other six were smaller like these..
