Lake Jennings

Post by Matt »

I’m fairly new to fishing (haven’t been since my teenage years). My boys want to go and I was thinking about taking them to Lake Jennings. How’s the fishing there recently? Is it worth going or are there better spots to check out? I’ll probably head out tomorrow and rent a boat. Thanks for any suggestions y’all can provide!

I used to rent a boat and go to Jennings with my kids. Enjoy! If you really want your kids to catch them, think about getting a dozen live shiners. I haven't thrown live bait in years but with kids and a goal to get them hooked up they are hard to beat.

Quick update - we caught 2 bass and about 20 bluegill. The boys were stoked. The bass were caught off a drop shot and the bluegill with earthworms. The water level is so low! The bites stopped at about 9:00 and we were home by 10:00. Good times
