Barrett Report July 17
Well, more of that early morning wind from the west. Started out with Chuck and Steve right on time at 0430. Wind wasn't as bad, but certainly noticeable. We all headed more or less to Hauser, but I got tired of the wind and went to the calm side of the main lake. Mix of poppers, whopper ploppers, spooks and crawlers did ok for me. Big fish was 3 pounds 8 ounces. Headed back to meet Chuck and started playing with deep diving crankbait, and picked up a few on that. Look at the picture below. I kind of believe that really was all fish. Did a little buster chasing, but no success. Had to be off the water at 0900. Which was ok, because it was windy again.

I’d take your sounder off the fish ID and use your standard gain adjustments. It’s harder to tell with fish alert setting. Thermocline can give you false readings. You’ll be able to see true marks better and adjust out the junk

Good advice, I did fish ID for the picture. I used Panoptix to verify that was a mess of fish. Didn't post that picture.camobass wrote: Wed Jul 17, 2024 6:49 pm I’d take your sounder off the fish ID and use your standard gain adjustments. It’s harder to tell with fish alert setting. I think that last fish just wants his picture taken, seems I caught him a couple times yesterday
. Chuck enticed me into throwing my pompadour, let's chalk the result up to beginners luck.

Ahahah. Those pompadours are a lot of fun. Usually you get a decent fish on them.

Sorry about the huge picture.
It was my first time posting anything and i did not know it would come out as it did.
Yes it was a good explosion on my whopper plopper and he gave a good fight.
I believe it was in pine creek area.
It was awesome.
Thank you.

The picture is perfect! Mind me asking what time of the day that beauty hit? It doesn’t look early. Thanks!Bassatotay1 wrote: Fri Jul 19, 2024 11:20 am Sorry about the huge picture.
