North County SD. New species for me.

The surf has been pretty rough the past few days and chock-full of salad. I've been trying different spots in north county, with mixed success, so I decided to circle back to this year's honey hole, and it produced from the first cast. I landed my first ever black surfperch. Both of them put up a nice fight and peeled my drag. Interesting how different their coloring was, when comparing the first to the second. I kept getting snagged on eelgrass and floating kelp, so there were lots of re-ties that kept my line out of the water for longer than I'd like. Regardless, it was a fun session, with two black SP and three BSP. Fun sesh...
