Re: Hodges report March 23
Agreed Camobass, my biggest bass is also on topwater. The way I usually fish my little jerkbaits effectively makes them topwater-ish. I sure do like the topwater strike, it's got to be the most dramatic, as long as you are watching it.

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B
I doubt that I will volunteer my money in the future. I don't mind losing $14, I mind that they don't respect our donation enough to at least let us know we lost. I have been "ghosted" by CDFW. Ahahaha.

Re: March 22 Flyover
We had a great time at Baccarac and it's true, my best fish was caught on a popper. Love those things. Chuck caught some big fish on the popper, but got the fish of the trip on a crankbait. He only had one of this squarebill, so everytime he'd get hung up, it was kind of stressful to get it back ...

Re: Lake Hodges: Storm Fishing Plus An Interesting Story
Nice video Chris. I have been thinking to head to the narrows for the reasons you outlined, it's good to see that it worked well for you. Really liked the story about your big fish and of course that drink on the water was great. See you on the water.

Re: March 22 Flyover
Maybe a silly question when looking at this photo of a full and inviting Barrett Lake, but does anyone know what that small body of water is in the top center of the pic?
On another post, recently ( that's why I know and more importantly remember ) they are on private property and well protected ...

Hodges report March 27
Hello all,
We got out on the water at 0645. The usual Hodges fog was present and water temp was around 61-62 F. I started along the shoreline and picked up a couple sample size bass ( around a pound or so ). Picked around with the popper and got a couple swirls but again no takers. I had a bait I ...

Re: Hodges report March 27
Hey Chris, it was a perfect day temperature and wind wise. Sometimes those days are so nice, you don't mind the little fish. If I only had a little Safu Sake.

Of course, I will be doing something on top, or just below the surface to about 3 feet deep. Between us, we have the whole water column covered.JWall wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2024 3:49 pm Its creature city for me tomorrow at El Cap. Jig n craw, fat ika, and a new one, a Yamatanuki.

Re: El Cap 3-29 Report
Always a lot of fun to fish together. I think they were suspending, confused by the drop in water temp. We saw some fish holding mid range on the finder, but they weren't cooperating. It was a chilly 59F when we got there and only got to 62F when we were leaving.

Re: Murray report 3/28
Hey Dannicus, I'm with you on BFS, but I am willing to throw a double fluke, you take a 3-way swivel and do a dropper on your main line with a shorter terminal line. It's like the umbrella rig for the BFS crowd.
Nice report. We were there last week on Friday and didn't see you.

Re: Were tickets random this year?
Called Ticketmaster today to find out what date I got. I guess they know they have problems, because before I could speak to someone, a recording says that they have a zero tolerance policy for verbal abuse. I'm thinking they know what might be coming their way after that nightmare last night.

Hodges report April 10
Hello all,
Got out bright and earlyish to Hodges. Something like 0630. No wind at all and water temp was 62F. Also no blanket of fog on the water, so you could see pretty well. Kind of made me miss the fog. Water was warm enough for me to poke around with the popper, and follow with the spinnerbait ...
