A spring day on San V...not!
I got to the lake at 6:15, under dark, cold, cloudy, drizzly skies..which pretty much remained that way for the next 6 hours!! The lake seems about a month behind with the unseasonably cold spring we're having! I ended the day with 14 fish, mostly small males which I hadn't planned on fishing for ...

Heartbreak lake
The heartbreak is you get turned around on the quagga mussel inspection 90% of the time from a ridiculous reason. Example, a eucalyptus leaf that fell in your boat the morning you drove up and you missed it. Or condensation.
After much praying on the way there, we passed the inspection. What a ...

Re: Pro Bass Angler Forfeits $100K in Winnings When It’s Discovered He Didn’t Have a Fishing License
Polygraph is necessary when there are 100’s of thousands of $ involved and you have mike long’s out there as well as those walleye guys. Those guys failed a previous polygraph before they got busted stuffing lead weights and filets in those walleye. Plus random questions like a license I believe is ...

May 9- Lake Miramar
Knowing that 15 north morning traffic on a weekday gets crazy and going south in the late afternoon a lot worse, I decided to head up to Lake Miramar and put in a little fishing time in my kayak. Knowing that I need to make the most of my time on the water I quickly headed across the lake.

5/16 Marvelous Morning at Murray
I have had some tough trips this year to Murray where I worked hard just to catch a couple bass(thank you for lowering, then raising the water, then lowering and then raising it a little etc, etc., etc.) Anyway...My last trip in the beginning of May showed a little sign of improvement. This morning ...

Re: Golden Bass
The markings/no markings usually comes from where the fish are, if they’re relating to cover or open water, and water clarity. Guarantee if you catch some schooling open water fish, they will have a bland pattern at best

Minnesota Madness 2023
Having a great time on our annual trip to Pelican Lake, Minnesota. The largies and smallies are coughing up crawdads so I have been throwing my trusty craw bait. They love senkos here also. For the evening topwater action it’s the rat for me and the whopper plopper for the other guys. The local Bent ...

Most fun and unusual baits for bass
Although I haven’t been fishing in over a month and probably won’t go for another month I thought I would put this out there. For me it has been fun to get them on the rat, the mudbug (crawdad) and the Black Cockatoo! What are some of your unusual baits?

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass
Two weeks ago I was at Barrett and saw a dead rabbit in the water. I realized why the big rat lures work right there.
But for me, consistently this crazy crawler is the strangest thing I use ( and variants ) and every week I get some fish to claim it.

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass
Okay, so how come no one makes a ringneck snake lure?
These little beauties are natural forage for fish.
Don't believe me? Where do you think I got that one?
