Re: El Cap 11.24

Is it just me, or was this one of the quietest years of fishing in So Cal ?

From Jan 1 to March it was dead as a door nail for me. I’ve had a really good year from March on. It’s starting to slow way down (especially for shore anglers) locally, gonna be focusing my efforts out of town for the ...

Re: El Cap 11.24

I spent beginning of the year at San V and got skunked twice, but after that, I pulled at least 5 fish each trip, until this fall, when the busters were looking for lures that resembled plankton. ( kidding, but they wanted small stuff ). Spent the summer chasing fish at Barrett and while I had a ...

Re: El Cap 11.24

All the lakes hit and miss this year. Was at Cap yesterday and got lucky with 5 fish between 1.41 and 3.21 lbs. Left at 1230.

Re: El Cap 11.24

I don’t mind getting blanked when the permit is free 50 but it stings when you have pay the CA lake tolls. I just spent a month out of town where an annual fishing license is cheaper than a lake day use permit here. Everywhere you can fish is free.

Exactly. I was out in Missouri. And the best part is, bass aren’t pressured. Most are after crappie and walleye. Not many fish the “green carp”

Re: Advice plz!: Headin to The River

I’ve got no Blythe knowledge (I’m sure there are many here who do), but you can find smallmouth in the imperial valley canals much closer to SD. Look for check gates and drops in any of the canals on Google earth and you are in good shape to find fish.

Got my first Smallmouth out there a ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

You owe me for that dropshot fish..I'm not sure what you owe me, but you must owe me something......! Good job getting some river fishes, can be tough this time of year!

I would give you some 6” Roboworms….but I know that those may be way too long for you to ever use. I would give you a Tokyo ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

@VinnyBass On the History Channel there is a show called "the Proof is Out There". Where experts look at videos and pictures of UFO's and bigfoots to see if there real. That sounds like your next job.

That was really funny.
Thank you for the comment.
I’ve actually watched some of those shows ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

I’m pretty sure I know one of the posts you’re referring to from the old site. Last year or maybe even last spring. I never said anything but almost left a comment. All the “different” fish and the same unique marking. Thinking it was Perris or Elsinore ;)

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

I'm not saying it happened or didn't but there's been so many crazy things I've seen and heard over the years, I'd believe it. Guys catching redfish on cape cod, bonito outside boston harbor, sailfish in the cape cod canal.

There's always some animal where it doesn't belong...flamingos and turtles in San Diego bay...

While I don't believe the salmon story because of my own experience and the lack of evidence provided, you're right in that stranger things have occurred. Sea turtles have been documented in the San ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

That thing looks more than beat up. That thing looks dead. And as someone mentioned before in this thread, that generation is obsessed with videos! They're posting videos of the food they ate earlier in the day on social media.

The fact that there is no video is a bit sketchy, considering that it ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

I do know that there have, on rare occasions, been salmon caught on local sport boats. Haven’t heard of any in recent years and they are extremely rare but I wouldn’t say it is impossible for a stray fish to make its way into the river. By the looks of that fish it looks to be pretty close to the ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

I am going to sound like a negative Nancy here.....but here are some things in the WON story that to me seem strange.
He said he had only a 20 minute window to fish, before going to work. OK...yet there is a float tube there and it
just seems illogical to take that out, try to get it out ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River

A few years ago a friend of mine caught a steelhead in the river that runs through the La Costa Golf Course. DFW caught wind of it and electro shocked all the bass out of the pond it was caught in a few days later. Crazy stuff can happen! The fact that it looks dead isn’t surprising as Salmon start ...

Re: Laguna Niguel Lake

Only pay for parking. $5 on weekends. Trout stocking just started. There are bass, some good ones but very limited bank space, limited structure, decent in spring and fall.
