5/1-Tough morning/SD River
Being forgetful made my SD River fishing trip a little tougher this morning. Last night I sorted out a selection of crawbaits,
senkos, creature and a few other plastic worms in little ziplocks that were geared just for the SD river. This way I could travel light

First float at Otay
Brother and I took the float tubes down to Otay today. We got there a little later than normal and it was 8ish before we got in the water.
Weightless worms along the tule lines in Harvey’s were the meal ticket today. Think I spent exactly 3 casts on other baits all morning. Started off with a ...

Re: Otay trifecta 4/4
Hey Dannicus great job as usual. Was playing with the idea of hitting Otay tomorrow but the weather might get in the way. Anyhow I was looking for some recent intel on what’s working but guessing it’s your usual weapons. Thanks for posting!

Re: 5/1-Tough morning/SD River
Had to smile reading this. Can't count the number of times I have cut the main line thinking it was the tag. Really annoying when it is a leader knot! And getting the lines wrapped around the rods... really bad in a tube when you cannot reach the rod tips! Braid is especially bad for that!

5/9-Couple of Firsts at Murray
A couple recent trips to Murray resulted in a handful of small bass(McFish would be proud
as I gave in and used drop-shot) and a couple of nicer fish on reaction baits.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a few firsts of the year with you as today's trip produced my
first topwater bass of the year. Saw ...

Quick morning at Hodges
Took a friend to Hodges and wanted to avoid all of my usual shore pounding, so rented a boat. Almost a quick start as I had a "dock monster" just miss while waiting for my buddy to arrive. Anyway, went right over to the birds across from the dock and there were shad everywhere and no bites :cry ...

Cap float 5/12
Took the tubes out to Cap this morning. Mother’s Day had the lake pretty empty early! Only a couple of boat trailers and my brother and I in the tubes.
Immediately started throwing my favorite bladed bait around shallow brush. Got the most action where there was brush in the back of cuts and coves ...

Finally some time off from tournaments....
I finally got some time off from fishing these kayak tournaments up here in Northern California..... I was able to find and dial in a pretty speical bite on my now Home pond. Weightless 5" Shad color senko dead sticking on the tops of boulders. Tops of the boulders would be in about 20ft. I found a ...

Lake Hodges: The Pattern Is Changing!

Hey, all I hope fishing is treating you well. I headed out to Hodges twice this week each for just a few hours in the morning. Both days when I got there, the shad were busting up on shore with the birds having a frenzy right next to the Bass. The ...

Re: Back to back casts 5/17
Very nice. Looks that big bluegill hasn't come up shallow enough to get much color yet.

Re: Back to back casts 5/17
Great job out there as always. I can't wait to get on some big bluegill soon. Hopefully at Barrett on Sunday! It looks like you were using the same bait from your big one at Hodges not too long ago. I look forward to seeing you on the water again soon. Cheers!

in. It was very fun running into you and sharing fishing stories on Thursday while each of us even caught a few bass.
Amazing how many stories fellow fishermen can share with each other. Nice job out there on ...

Re: Back to back casts 5/17
Like @VinnyBass I figure you are all tired of seeing my Murray posts. Still, I thought I'd share a couple of pics of a decent bass and a large bluegill caught on consecutive casts with the same bait. Fun!
Not sure you were BFS’ing on those two beauts but I finally got my Ark BFS reel you ...

1st time at Clearlake
Well...I was super excited to go to the giant bass mecca in Nor-Cal and was not disappointed (mostly, more later...) Went with my little brother and we both got fish the first day on a boat (cant remember the guide's name...my brother booked him) But here are a couple examples, sorry this time I ...

Hodges May 19th
Quick morning session on the float tube at Hodges on Sunday. Ended up with five on the drop shot close to shore. Three of them in the same spot within minutes of each other which was nice after two hours of no bites. I’m guessing they were on spawning beds there, also indicated from their tails ...

5/24- Return to Lake D & K
Haven't been back to the lake since April 12 and boy did the water level rise. It takes a lot longer to get there than going to Lake Murray
and arrived a little after 6 a.m. As I parked next to McFish's truck, both he and Fisheromen already were out on the water. But wait, I
