Re: Tale of two days...

Straight braid in a tube = Anchored to the bottom when hung up! Sometimes I need the leader to be a breaking point!

Re: Tale of two days...

Straight braid for this guy no leaders ever.
It’s like using 30 pound braid with a 10 pound liter and then the bass breaks the leader. What’s the point of even having 30 -40 pound braid if the leader breaks especially if you’re fishing in heavier cover. I imagine a lot of guys use braid so they ...

Re: Lake Elsinore Wiper Bass

Thank you for the suggestion. The long post on Lake Elsinore in the Riverside County section actually supplied me with what I was looking for.

Re: Lake Elsinore Wiper Bass

Glad you got what you needed. Just a warning about Elsinore, make one mistake of any kind on the water and the Lake Sheriff will write you a ticket. No education, no mercy. There is a certain flow of traffic, speed limits, area with No Wake. Observe these rules. Look them up, study them and follow ...

Hodges in August, I mean Feb

Hey guys, am back on the new sdfish.org.. didn't realize sdfish.com was gone after several years LOL!! On the new one now..
Hit Hodges today, and was slow as expected.. Mid 80's with no breeze, felt like mid-summer August.. Seemed most folks were crappie fishing, and maybe a handful of bass anglers ...

Re: No story this time

Bait or plastic worm or crank bait or under spin....etc. ?
Never see anything hanging from the mouths of the bass on your pics so I was just curious or is it a secret? :-)

I always mean to take pictures with the bait still in them, but I am usually so excited I forget. Today was a jig with a ...

Otay 3/4

I haven’t fished for a very long time. Hit up Otay today. Got there around 6:30 to very low water levels and quite a bit of algae.
Did ok. Got 11. Biggest went 4.4# and another 3.6#. Rest were clones. All caught on jerkbait and dropshot.

How'd you get you PB?

Mine was on a Spro popper frog, about 8 years back, and she slurped it in, no explosion. Big ones don't need to explode on it, they just swim under it, open up the gills, flush a gallon of water in and anything in it, and swim off with a swagger. AKA a toilet flush. You know she's big at that point ...

Back at it...

Back to the new favorite but with a new plan...respooled one baitcaster with 10lb mono and fished just a weightless senco in the edges of the tulles...trying to get more bites. Seemed to work, got 6 bites in a couple hours but lost four of them because I was afraid to set the hook too hard with the ...

Ok well...Murray March 11

Murray has been ok numbers wise for me for the last few weeks, but everything has been clones and dinks so I haven't bothered posting.

Still I didn't want you guys to think I left altogether so I figured I'd better put up something. I've thrown everything from big swimbaits to worms and tiny jigs ...

Well not really how the expression goes but here is another story.

Back to what has become a favorite of mine (O'Neill) for an after work session and I have to confess the lucky first. Here is the result.

Grandkids at Murray

Took a trip to Murray with the grandkids. They love to fish and look at the fish in the live well. In 1 of the pics you can see they built a fort at the drivers seat and dash. So I used the trolling to get us around. To much fun.
