Re: The grind
I think there’s much better lake fishing in a few months from now. Yeah catching spotties can be really fun but for me, I just like the challenge of trying to catch bass in the freshwater. My dad used to take me to the ocean fishing and to the lakes when I was a kid and we went almost every ...

Re: 3/13- Lake Miramar
When you say tulles, on the main center part of lake or were you in one of the bays. I will have to try my luck in the reeds next time there. I never have fished the tulles only outside them. I guess I am afraid of losing tackle but it's time I learn how to fish differant tackle. Each time out I try ...

Pond D.K.
Well.....fished it twice since it opened, learned one thing: it fishes alot tougher than the last few years! The water level is extremely depressing! The lake has hundreds of rockpiles, unfortunately 95% of them are on dry land now. The bad news is there will be no boats on the lake this year...the ...

Morning bassin
Back to the camp lake this time in the morning. Made the mistake of taking a work call while fishing and of course got bit. Set the hook and it was a giant, tried to be calm and was mostly successful. Fought her for a minute or so, she stayed down and took some line...then came up to say hi, jumped ...

Re: 3/13- Lake Miramar
I was just thinking about Miramar thanks for the report.
Was the lake crowded and how was the water level?
OK.....I have noticed that every comment you make has questions in it. I am just curious and guessing you are retired CIA or had
a career with the FBI or are maybe just taking all the ...

Re: Pond D.K.
I was there last weekend for a few hours. I was going to bring my kayak but decided to just bring a rod and shore fish to scope it all out.
I knew the lake was low but dang, I was surprised at how low. The wind was crazy as well. Surprised to see so many tubes out there in the white caps.
While ...

El Capitan 3/17
Had a pretty good day at El Cap, final count was 7, all jig and worm fish, but nothing big.
That will be my last trip to The Captain until they raise the water some. I got completely stuck in the mud trying to launch and wrenched both my old arthritic knees trying to get out. Our wonderful lakes ...

Cap the 16th
I trucked through the mud to fish. I was out there 2 weeks before and did really well with 31, checked out to the rock I use to fish on the regular that is out of the water now. I did even better this time. Fishing the shore to 15' deep. All types of shore line, but with rock was better. Fished slow ...

Re: El Capitan 3/17
Yet over at Miramar, too much water as my buddy took this pic yesterday.
Last week the water started halfway down where the railing are on that dock.
Pretty crazy eh?

Great Murray day 3/19
Had a really good BFS day at the Murr. Final count was 24. The largest was just under 4 lbs. Most were in the 2-3 pound range, with a few dinks scattered in there. Even the short fish were pretty weighty with bellies bulging from shad.
The best part was that the first 11 bass were all on top water ...

Re: Great Murray day 3/19
One of these days I will see @VinnyBass actually get his lazy behind back out on the water again instead of 20 minutes of pitching swimbaits by the dock.
