Re: Murray

It was nice meeting you and really liked your pontoon fishing set-up. You looked really comfortable sitting high on the water
a probably a heck of a lot easier to get off longer casts. Yeah, the whole morning was pretty darn slow and with the moon being so full the night before, I always assume the ...

Re: The heat and the full moon..

Thanks for the update! I'm ready to start hitting other lakes again and just trying to decide where to go this weekend. Info is good. Cheers!

Where's the videos and beers?

The videos are out there for sure! I went to Montana and made 2 videos from there (in the Trout Fishing section) and ...

Re: Murray Topwater 8/22 and 8/23

I think bass over the years are tired of seeing my Spooks, Sammys, Gunfish, and in recent years IMA Skimmers. Maybe it’s time to get some new baits as topwater dishing is so much more exciting when the water exploded with a hungry bass slamming a hard bait. And downsizing the bait sure seems to be ...

Re: Reality Check - Hodges 8/24

Sometimes you could throw the kitchen sink and more and bass just are not on the chew. It’s so frustrating to think why aren’t they biting these baits that they always bit before. I usually find myself putting a drop shot on and even gone down to a 4 inch worm in desperation just to be able to pull ...

Re: 8/22-Back to Murray for more

Geez…hopefully I will remember how to fish the points and edges of the tulles because I’ve been fishing out in the middle of the lake so many trips in a roll and haven’t tossed any plastic worms etc. :-)

Re: Hodges 8/25

Talking to a few buddies recently and it seems like Hodges has been really a lot tougher…. so picking up a couple nice bass is always a plus even with a few dinks. Glad to see you avoided the skunk and back on the water with your pontoon. Thanks for sharing and Tight lines always :-)

8/28-Mixing it up

Yeah, I know you guys are tired of my Lake Murray reports, but I tried to make it a little more interesting.
I decided to first try to catch a few bass on hard topwater baits. I put on a little Zara Puppy(Spook) since Dannicus , CorsoEnthusiast and a few others said to throw smaller baits. I ...

Re: 8/28-Mixing it up

Damn VB…do you secretly work for tackle stores?! I now have 5 new baits I need to go buy 😜

PS great work as always 👏

Don't buy anything.....as in a month all of the stuff won't work and will be sitting back in tackle boxes left in my garage
for years like that Damiki blade....ha ha
Later I ...

Re: 8/28-Mixing it up

Not tired to the Murray reports. Keep them coming!
I like the gun fish for down sizing the top hard baits. I think it's the 75mm. I know bait makers are going much smaller now, but I'm out of the loop=)

It’s funny because years ago I would throw larger Sammy’s and they caught fish and then ...

Re: Miramar

Many of the bass are eating baitfish and had success with reaction baits. The fish fight hard because I believe that
many have never ever been hooks as there is not heavy fishing pressure up there and last year from September on it was closed to
water craft till July of this year. Good luck if you ...

8/30-SD River am

This sounds strange, but I just did not feel like going to Lake Murray this morning(despite the fact they are biting)and decided to go down to the SD River.
I have not fished there since late June and lately it has just been too dang hot. I figured that I could fish a few hours this morning and get ...

Re: 8/30-SD River am

outstanding work! It's hard to not do the things that are working and try something else, but you sure showed it does pay off.

I think being a little hyper might also have something to do with it.
Besides, I have lots and lots of lures that haven’t touched the water in a long time and figured ...

Re: 8/30-SD River am

Nice job Vinny. You're always on fish brother. Murray has been kinda up and down for me over the last week, so I think you made the right call for sure!

More than a few guys have told me the bite is off and on at Murray. Yesterday I heard it was not good as told to me by another fellow
sdfish ...

Re: Barrett Report August 28

I pride myself with having so many various lures from the decades of fishing all over my garage, house, boat and even in my kayak...but
I have never had a flying fish type of bait or a bait with wings. Oh wait...I got it.... I guess it is called a Pompadour. That bait is crazy looking and even ...

What’s nice is not having to pay for a fishing permit or launch fee. I could use that money for Tackle Warehouse…… ha ha

brush hogs.jpg
Hey....just curious on if others throw Zoom Brushhogs. They been around since 1977 and decades ago they were pretty darn
popular as a very popular type of creature baits. I remember using them back then, especially at El Cap and Morena
with great results. Then years later they(many ...

Re: San Vicente Late Summer Bass

Very nice!
Always enjoy the videos and watching you on the rougher water the first 20 seconds, I ran to the medicine chest to take some
Dramamine, but put it away as the water calmed down. Always feel like I am fishing right there with you and great to
see your post and hopefully there are many ...

Re: Otay 9/4

I know it is always a few degrees cooler in Chula Vista at Otay, but takes a man of dedicationI to be fishing in
this heat and my hats off to you. Being on the water for a few hours and catching some bass had to be fun
and was a heck of a lot better than my day. The only thing fishing related was ...

Re: 8/30-SD River am

I still throw them. I've cleaned up on tiny Brushhogs and a pegged 1/16 oz bullet weight. I Texas rig them on a #2 light wire hook and throw them on my BFS gear. I think Vinny and McFish have seen me have success with that setup. I've even caught a couple of 4 pounders that way which is an ...
