A lot tougher this morning than my other trips to Miramar this year where in past trips things were going off.
The water was glassy and looked like an oil painting with the lack of any type of action on the surface. I tried to drum up some action on the surface using a Gunfish, then a Sammy and ...

Re: 9/24- Miramar
The bite at Miramar really went from 100 to 0 over the past few weeks. Last month you could toss any sort of spoon and get bit anywhere in the lake
Yeah, you got that right. Even talked to a few other guys this morning and they said the same thing. I worked really hard just to get the fish I ...

Re: 9/24- Miramar
Nice work pulling out a nice fish! Things have been quiet, bitewise, for me too this past week. Just casting from shore, but I can usually scare up a keeper or two. All on jerkbaits. Sunday morning was my last fish. Just a few bites since then and that was throwing soft plastics.
Busters all over ...

9/26-Where else…but Murray
Greeted with cool conditions in the morning at Murray.
Brrrrrrr!

Around 9:00, the bass were starting to chase shad across the surface. Mixed it up with lots of reaction type baits and bottomline the clones were on the chew. Fished for a while next to my buddy Larry as bass were ...

Today was my first day fishing this this week. Usually I have at least two days in by Thursday, but was busy dealing with some health issues with my "wife". She's much ...

Re: Murray or El Cap 9/27
Nice job out there buddy.
It’s always fun to pick up some healthy ones too! That first pic shows the bass are eating well.
Anyway, I went over to the lake to look around and saw that you were there. You made the right choice as

Re: Murray or D.K. 9/27 ?
Deb and I were eating breakfast this morning and she said that I seem distracted as I kept looking at my phone. I told her that you texted me a couple times and not one fish has jumped. I guess it was making me nervous after telling you about the great bite the day before. I then looked at my watch ...

Re: 9/26-Where else…but Murray
It’s hit me….another reason, where I live, everyone is on Ca “fair” plan for fire insurance. In the last two years it has gone from $700 to $3500. My neighbor got hit for 8k and my buddy down the road 12k just for basic home coverage per year. Absolutely wild. It has definitely affected my fishing ...

Re: Season finale 9/28 Big B Report
Great to see that you and Max had another fun time out at Barrett before the gates will soon close.
Having fun catching lots of bass at Barrett pretty much seems to be the consensus of so many who fish there.
Ah, the MM always seem to do the trick with bass everywhere and I have never tried the ...

9/30-Cool it Vinny
Ok...I need to cool it for a week or two with my Murray fish reports.
I have done a bunch of Lake Murray reports recently and they are all starting to sound the same and repetitious even to me. And if they seem that way to me, they surely have become boring to others.
The report: the bite has been ...

Re: 9/30-Cool it Vinny
Would my new banjo minnow work there?
Absolutely!
That bait is guaranteed to catch fish. I have not seem them at East Co. Bait & Tackle
recently, so you are lucky you have some. The bass should be gobbling them up
as soon as they hit the water so hold on to that rod of yours tightly.....ha ha ...

It is always a shock to hit a lake with lots of anticipation and the action is not even close to the last time you were there

Re: Cool Bands you've seen "Live"
YouTube is so amazing because you can find all types of bands there. Heck I can see bands I never got to see before and sometimes it is really fun when I stumble upon a concert where I actually was there that night. And while the studio version of a song or songs are great, I have more fun seeing ...

Very nice! Bet that was a big surprise!
I imagine you are always having fun when you are catching bass even clones around 2 lbs or even smaller
each trip because of the excitement of the water exploding on those small topwater baits. And then
a real blast when out of the blue a healthy bass beats ...

That’s a good idea… thank you. I remember just using a little bit heavier swivels to get the flukes down, but that sounds a lot better.camobass wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 12:38 pm Double fluke rig is awesome. Nail weighting the far fluke can help if you want to get it down.
